Ensemble MusikFabrik, Cologne, 9-11 May 2025 – SIMM research seminar #9 on the role of composers in social and community music projects:
The 9th SIMM-seminar is organised in Cologne at the contemporary music Ensemble MusikFabrik and welcomes 15 scholars interested in exchanging experiences, ideas and research findings on the role of music composition in social and community music projects and programmes (9-11 May 2025).
The seminar is taking place behind closed doors. It is not open for visitors from outside, but on Sunday 11th May we will at 6 pm organise a public presentation at MusikFabrik on questions which were most discussed during the research seminar (see announcement here) .
This 9th research-seminar will welcome a small group of 14 post-graduate students, early-career researchers as well as experienced researchers – who are all involved in ongoing research on the possible role of composers and music composition in social and community music programmes – to spend a 3-day seminar during which they will share their research experiences with each other:
